What problems can I resolve at home?

You can manage several minor issues at home: • Sores or ulcers – cover abrasive areas of your braces with wax; rinse with salt water to help healing. • General discomfort after braces or adjustments – eat soft foods and take an over-the-counter pain reliever as needed. • Wire poking – gently bend the wire back with a pencil eraser or apply wax over the area. How often will I have orthodontic appointments?

How do I best protect my braces and other appliances?

How should I take care of my teeth when I have braces?

Should I still get two dental checkups a year when I have braces?
