Appointment Policies

Appointments are an important part of your treatment, as time has been reserved specifically for you. We value your time and do our best to stay on schedule. A variety of appointment times are available for your convenience.

Shorter Appointments: We generally schedule shorter appointments after work/school hours and on Saturdays. These appointments, which include adjustments and appliance checks typically do not require a lot of time in the chair or with a doctor. This allows us to see the maximum number of patients during these more popular "peak" hours.

Longer Appointments: Please keep in mind that certain procedures, such as the placement or removal of braces and/or appliances require more time (60-90 minutes). These appointments are always scheduled during the weekday morning hours.

We are happy to provide an excuse for appointments that must be scheduled during work and/or school hours.

Rescheduling and Cancellations: Throughout treatment every patient is seen every 4-8 weeks, so our schedule is typically booked several weeks in advance. We encourage you to attend all regularly scheduled appointments. This prevents delays in your treatment.

We request a 48-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you do not contact us within 48 hours, you may be charged a fee. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Appliance Repairs: We always schedule appointments to repair brackets, broken appliances and retainers during weekday morning hours. These types of appointments require 60-90 minutes to complete. We can provide a school or work excuse for appliance repairs.

*Please keep in mind that you can prevent most repair appointments by avoiding sticky, chewy, hard or crunchy foods during treatment. These foods can easily damage brackets and wires. Always put your removable retainers, expanders and other appliances in the storage case that we provide. Never wrap them in a napkin, place them in your pocket, or leave them out where they can easily be lost or broken.

Payments

Financial difficulty should not prevent you from achieving a beautiful, healthy smile. For your convenience, we can set up a monthly payment plan to help make your treatment more affordable. Regardless of whether or not you receive treatment, payment is due each month. You will be required to pay a service charge if your account becomes delinquent (10 days past due). Please see the financial page for more information.

Your Cooperation is Key

Successful orthodontic treatment is a team effort that requires your full cooperation. To prevent delays in treatment, it is imperative that you attend every appointment and maintain proper oral hygiene. Also, avoid foods that can damage your appliances and follow the instructions of your orthodontist. Lack of cooperation can prolong your treatment and may cause less than ideal results. With your cooperation, we can help you achieve a beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.
