Four Steps To A Healthier Smile
Adult patients (and teens in some instances) seeking braces might consider many different types of braces, and Invisalign tends to be one of the most popular. A large part of its appeal has to do with the way the system works. There are four primary stages of treatment:
Evaluation
Patients considering Invisalign treatment need to have their orthodontic health evaluated. Invisalign offers highly effective alignment correction to many malocclusions but is not suited for every concern.
Measurement
Precision computer scanning technology is used to create a highly accurate 3D model of the patient's mouth; this is used to create the series of acrylic trays that will fit securely over the treated teeth.
Daily use
Patients wear their Invisalign braces for a period of time outlined by their orthodontist. Consistent and regular daily use and maintenance is essential for achieving care outcomes.
Retention
After the series of Invisalign braces has been used, patients are likely to require a short period of retention treatment to fix the achieved results.
Throughout the period of treatment patients may need to be periodically evaluated by their orthodontist. These checkups ensure that everything is going according to plan and give the patients an opportunity to discuss their questions and concerns with their provider.

One of the great advantages of Invisalign is that the aligner tray can be placed and removed at the patient's convenience. This allows for worry-free eating, socializing, and hygiene. The tray is replaced afterwards and is generally worn at night, too. The first step to a healthier smile is making an appointment with us at Star Orthodontics.
